Ryanair will connect Sarajevo with Brussels, Gothenburg, London, Memmingen and Milan, the air carrier said in a press release on Tuesday.
Ryanair expects to create over 150 new jobs in Bosnia as it plans to operate more than 20 weekly flights from the airport starting in the summer season.
The airline already operates flights to the Banja Luka airport in Bosnia.
Last week, the Tourism Association of the Sarajevo Canton selected Ryanair, Hungarian Wizz Air and Turkish SunExpress in a tender for financial incentives to airlines that will introduce flights to the airport in 2024.
Passenger numbers at the Sarajevo International Airport surged to 1.38 million in 2022, compared with 767,134 passengers served a year earlier.
