The store will span an area of 1,120 square metres in the southern city of Leskovac which will be expanded to 2,300 square metres within a few months, media portal Resetka.rs quoted Mere development manager for Serbia, Marko Jezdimirovic, as saying on Tuesday.
"We are characterised by pallet sales and we have been expanding rapidly since last year, meaning that a lot of facilities are being adapted and prepared throughout the country," said Jezdimirovic.
Mere is a brand of discount stores of
Russian discount retail chain Svetofor is operating in Europe under the Mere brand, according to Mere's website. In Southeast Europe, Mere already operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Serbia.
Mere opened its first store in Serbia in December 2020, in the Belgrade neighbourhood of Batajnica. It currently has ten stores in Serbia.
