Romania's Zentiva Names Simona Cocos as New Director General

Cocos will replace Lars Ramneborn who was named director general as of June 29, the company said in a statement without elaborating.

Ramneborn replaced Dragos Damian who transferred to Zentiva at the beginning of last year from Terapia Ranbaxy, the Romanian unit of Indian pharmaceutical producer Ranbaxy.

Zentiva S.A. expects a gross profit of 20.63 million lei ($7.19 million/4.9 million euro) this year, down from 30.07 million lei in 2008. The company reported a gross profit of 7.35 million lei in the first three month of 2009, compared to 7.42 million lei a year ago.

Zentiva S.A. ranked as Romania's sixth biggest drug maker with a market share of 3.7% in the twelve-month period through June 30, 2009, according to data of market researcher Cegedim Romania.

Zentiva shares closed down 1.45% at 0.68 lei on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Monday.
