Romania's Transgaz to invest at least 1.0 bln lei (218.9 mln euro) in 2012-2016

October 8 (SeeNews) - Romanian gas transmission company Transgaz [BSE:TGN] will invest at least 1.0 billion lei ($283.7 million/218.9 million euro) in the 2012-2016 period, the company said.

The planned investments, which the Romanian government has approved, will be made in maintenance and repair works, Transgaz said in a statement filed with the Bucharest bourse on Friday.

Romania owns 73.51% of blue-chip Transgaz, which is listed on the Bucharest bourse. Property restitution fund Proprietatea holds a 14.99% stake in the company.

Romania plans to sell 15% of Transgaz on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
