The value of construction works at the Podisor gas compressor station totalled 104.5 million lei ($25 million/22 million euro), Transgaz said in a press release.

The two compressor units fitted at the station cost a further 12.6 million euro ($14 million).

The Podisor compressor station includes two 4.6 MW gas compressor units manufactured by U.S.-based Solar Turbines.

At the beginning of the month, Transgaz inaugurated the Jupa gas compressor station, also part of the first stage of the BRUA project, following a 104 million lei investment.

In the first phase of the BRUA project, a total of 560 million euro will be invested in the construction of a new gas pipeline of 550 km in length that will have a maximum capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters per year in the direction to Bulgaria and 4.4 billion cubic meters per year in the direction to Hungary.

BRUA is a project for a pipeline linking the gas transmission systems of Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria.

Transgaz' shares traded 0.14% lower at 369 lei as at 1545 CET on Thursday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
