October 3 (SeeNews) - Romanian pavers producer Symmetrica plans to build two or three new production units in the next two to four years, a senior company official said on Wednesday.

Romania's Symmetrica plans to build new plants in two-four yrs

The minimum investment in a medium-capacity plant is estimated at 2.0 million euro ($2.6 million), Symmetrica's CEO Sebastian Bobu said in an e-mailed response to questions from SeeNews.

The company's expansion plans will be implemented provided the local market maintains a steady growth rate of 5.0%-10% per year, he added.

The future plants will be located within 200-300 kilometres from each other.

Symmetrica delivers its output to 80% of Romania's territory and could cover the whole country after opening the planned new units, the company said in a statement also on Wednesday.

The company has five factories in Romania. Earlier this year it opened two plants in the northwestern county of Bistrita Nasaud and in the central county of Brasov, in which it invested more than 4.0 million euro.

Symmetrica said earlier this year it targets a market share of 22% and a turnover of 16.2 million euro in 2012. Its turnover grew by over 40% on the year to 5.9 million euro in the first half of 2012.
