Romania's Star Stone invests 2.5 mln euro in new production line

The new production line will manufacture 600 sq m of pavers each day, the company said in a press release.

It will create 30 jobs in the beginning of 2023, thus bringing the number of Star Stone employees to more than 200.

The latest investment included, Star Stone allotted 4.1 million euro for investments in 2022

For 2022, the company forecasts more than 7.2 million euro in sales, an increase of 35% year-on-year.

"Sales of natural-looking decorative stone have increased by more than 20% this year and we anticipate an acceleration in the next period. This context is one of the reasons why we chose to we make the investment now," Star Stone general director Cristian Pop said.

Star Stone is a construction material manufacturing company, specialised in the production of pavement stones, decorative stone, and fence accessories. The company was founded in 2007 and has since branched into the Hungarian and Belgian markets. Star Stone’s products are marketed via over 300 distributors, including DIY retailers Dedeman and Hornbach.

According to finance ministry data, Star Stone recorded a turnover of 5.03 million lei ($1.08 million/1.02 million euro) and a net profit of 611,145 lei in 2021.
