In the first half of this year, the company booked a net profit of 750,000 lei, it said in a press release.

The company's turnover went up by an annual 32% to 21.9 million lei in January-June, mostly due to the company's increased notoriety in recent years, as well as due to the expansion of its store network in the last two years.

The company's five stores amounted for 59% of its sales in the first six months of 2022. Online sales made up 29% of total sales from January to June, while sales made through other channels of distribution made up for 12%.

Sport Guru plans to open between one and two stores each year until 2025.

"A significant contribution to this growth was the expansion of the
offer in the Cycling category, which contributed almost half to the increase in sales compared to the previous year. We also recorded significant increases in the other categories in our portfolio, such as Outdoor, Related Equipment, and Running," said company co-founder, Alexandru Cristescu.

Sport Guru is a Romanian distributor and retailer of specialised sports equipment, founded in 2009. The company operates five stores, three in the capital Bucharest and one in the cities of Cluj-Napoca and Brasov.
