Romania's Simtel Team to develop 27 MW PV plant in Satu Mare

April 15 (SeeNews) - Romanian technology and engineering company Simtel Team [BSE:SMTL] said it has signed a 19.3 million euro ($20.6 million) contract for the construction of a 27 MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in the northwestern city of Satu Mare.

Simtel will develop the solar park over a period of 47 months as part of a joint venture with an undisclosed company, it said in a filing to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, on Thursday.

The beneficiary of the contract is confidential, as per the statement.

On Thursday, Romanian power supplier and distributor Electrica [BSE:EL] said its project subsidiary Sunwind Energy has signed a 19.3 million euro EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract with an undisclosed renewables developer for the construction of its "Satu Mare 2" project involving a 27 MW PV park in northwestern Romania.

Simtel Team was founded in 2000 and specialises in eco-engineering, industrial automation, telecommunications, electric mobility, and photovoltaic equipment. The company was listed on the AeRO secondary market of the BVB in 2021.

Simtel Team's shares traded 1.42% lower at 55.6 lei ($11.92/11.18 euro) as at 1451 CET on Monday on the Bucharest bourse.

Electrica shares changed hands 0.45% lower at 13.2 lei as at 1452 CET on Monday on the BVB.
