Romania's September Jobless Rate Edges up to 3.9% - Table

The agency has revised its previous estimate for the August jobless rate to 3.8% from 3.9%.

In September, the southwestern county of Mehedinti had the highest unemployment rate in Romania, 8.7%. Ilfov county, in southern Romania, had the lowest rate of 1.2%.

The average unemployment rate in Romania fell to a 16-year low of 4.3% last year from 5.4% in 2006. In 1991, the average unemployment rate was 1.8%.
Romania's workforce is estimated at 9.3 million of a population of 21.5 million.
