On a monthly basis the number of issued building permits dropped by 11.8% in September, INS said in a statement. As many as 64.2% of the permits issued last month were for projects in the country's rural areas.
The number of permits for residential buildings issued in the first nine months of 2012 went down by 4.6% from a year earlier to 29,587. INS issued no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
In 2011 the number of permits issued for residential buildings in Romania fell by 6.6% to 39,424.
