Romania's Romcarbon 9-mo Net Profit Falls 46% - Table

November 14 (SeeNews) - Romania's sole gas mask manufacturer Romcarbon on Friday reported a 46% fall in net profit to 1.7 million lei ($560,000/447,000 euro) in the first nine months of 2008.

The company moved its shares from the RASDAQ over-the-counter market to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, in May.

Romcarbon's shares were traded up 1.01% at 0.5 lei at on Friday.

Romcarbon (www.romcarbon.com) was established in 1952 as Plastic Processing Company Buzau. It changed its name to Romcarbon in 1991. As of end-June, Taiwanese company Living Plastic Industry is the largest single shareholder in Romcarbon with a 32.52% stake, according to the Central Depository.

Romcarbon manufactures filters for the automotive industry, gas masks, polyethylene bags, PVC pipes, polypropylene bags and packaging foil. It is also one of the leading manufacturers of polystyrene food containers, Romania's largest maker of filters and the country's only producer of active charcoal.
