The BET-FI index was up 13.73% by 1145 GMT on Monday to 16,170.97 points. The blue-chip BET index rose by 4.79% to 3,322.91 points, and the composite BET-C index was 4.91% higher at 2,500.95 by the same hour.
“The rise of the SIFs is in tune with the global markets, but it is even stronger because of the sharp falls the investment funds suffered last month,” one broker told SeeNews. "I expect the upward trend to continue until the end of trading."
SIF 1 Banat Crisana led the gains among the SIFs, soaring by 13.93% to 0.695 lei ($0.24/0.18 euro) on deals worth 1.3 million lei.
Stock markets in Europe and Asia were rising steadily on Monday, after China has announced a $586 billion (457 billion euro) stimulus plan for its economy.
