On a seasonally adjusted annual comparison basis, Romania's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 2.1%, compared to a 4.2% real growth in the third quarter of 2022, the statistical board, INS, said in a data release.

Compared to the previous quarter, Romania's GDP grew by 0.4% in July-September.

In the first nine months of 2022, Romania's GDP rose by an annual non-adjusted 1.1% and seasonally-adjusted 1.9%.

INS said it has revised the economic growth figures for the first quarter of 2023, as compared to the previous quarter, from a decrease of 1% to a decrease of 0.7%. Also, the results for the second quarter of 2023, as compared to the previous quarter, were revised to 1.3% from 1.7%.

Romania's economic output will rise by an estimated 2% in 2023, finance ministry analysts said earlier this month, improving their previous forecast for 2.8% growth.

In 2022, Romania's GDP increased by 4.7%, compared to a 5.7% growth in 2021.
