BUCHAREST (Romania), December 9 (SeeNews) – Romania's unemployment rate rose to 7.5% in November from 7.1% a month earlier, the government's employment agency, ANOFM, said on Wednesday.

In November, the southwestern county of Mehedinti registered the highest unemployment rate in Romania, 13.7%. The capital Bucharest and the Ilfov county, in southern Romania, had the lowest rate, of 2.2% and 2.3%, respectively.
The average unemployment rate in Romania fell to a 17-year low of 4.0% last year from 4.3% in 2007. In 1991, the average unemployment rate was 1.8%. Romania's workforce is estimated at 9.3 million out of a population of 21.5 million.
