Compared to April 2023, Romania's jobless rate was 0.2 percentage points lower, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Registered unemployed in Romania numbered 443,600 in April, up from 440,200 in March and 442,200 in April of last year.
The jobless rate among women in April was 4.9% versus 5.5% among men.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.2%. Adults aged 25 to 74 who were jobless in April accounted for 74.7% of all unemployed people. Unemployment among people aged 15 to 24 remained high, at 20.5%, but eased from the 22.1% rate recorded a month earlier.
Romania had a workforce of 8.15 million people in 2023, down from 8.27 million in 2022.
