Romania's Jan-Oct tourism numbers rise 11.3% y/y

December 5 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania in the first ten months of 2023 rose 11.3% on the year, reaching 11.8 million, the statistical board said on Tuesday.

Tourists spent 25.5 million overnights in Romania in the January-October period, up 10.6% year-on-year, the statistical board, INS, said in a statement.

Romania tourist numbers and overnights, year-on-year pct change in brackets:

January-October October
Total tourists 11,794,100 (+11.3%) 1,094,000 (+4.4%)
-foreign tourists 1,818,500 (+30.8%) 188,600 (+14.4%)
Total overnights 25,546,600 (+10.6%) 2,222,400 (+1.6%)
-foreign tourists 3,857,800 (+27.5%) 393,900 (+8.7%)
