Romania's Jan-Nov cons budget gap narrows to 1.77%/GDP

December 21 (SeeNews) - Romania ran a consolidated budget deficit of 10.8 billion lei ($3.2 billion/2.4 billion euro) in January-November, equivalent to 1.77% of the gross domestic product (GDP) projected for this year, the finance ministry said on Friday.

In the first 11 months of 2011, the country's consolidated budget deficit amounted to 16.3 billion lei, or 2.8% of GDP, the ministry said in a statement.

In January-October, Romania ran a consolidated budget deficit of 7.2 billion lei, equivalent to 1.19% of the projected GDP.

In August, the Romanian government raised the 2012 budget deficit target to 2.25% of GDP from the 1.9% projected earlier, under a budget revision.

The country's 2011 budget gap shrank to 4.35% of GDP from 6.5% in 2010.
