Romania's Jan-July residential building permits down 9.4% y/y - table

August 30 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 26,557 building permits for residential projects in January-July, down 9.4% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Tuesday.

During July only, Romania issued 3,865 building permits, of which 67.9% were for projects located in rural areas, INS said in a monthly statement.

The regional distribution shows an decrease in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to July 2021, in northwest, west, Bucharest-Ilfov, southwest Oltenia, center and southeast regions. The number of construction permits granted in the northeast and south-Muntenia development regions was higher in July 2022 compared to the same period of last year.

INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.

Romania issued 51,287 building permits for residential projects in 2021, up 24.1% year-on-year.
