September 8 (SeeNews) - Romania's industrial output fell by an annual 9.7% in the January-July period, the National Statistics Institute (INS) said on Tuesday.

The country's July industrial output was unchanged from the previous month but was down 6.9% on the year, INS said in a statement. The figures are seasonally and working-day adjusted.

Breakdown by industry (pct change, year-on-year):

Industrial output -9.7 -6.9
- mining -9.1 -16.0
- manufacturing -12.0 -7.3
- utilities +1.3 +8.9
