October 11 (SeeNews) - Romania's consumer prices rose by 3.5% year-on-year in September, compared to an increase of 3.9% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said on Friday.
Food prices rose 4.07% year-on-year in September, while non-food prices added 2.78%, INS said in a statement.
Prices of services grew by 4.24% in September.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.09% in September, as food prices were 0.09% lower, non-food prices edged up by 0.13%, and prices of services rose by 0.27%.
The average consumer price inflation over the last 12 months was 3.8%, INS said.
In August, Romania's central bank said it is maintaining its 2019 inflation forecast at 4.2%, while increasing its projection for 2020 to 3.4% from 3.3% predicted in May.
On October 3, the central bank maintained its monetary policy rate at 2.50%.
