March 8 (SeeNews) - Romania’s economic output rose by an annual 4.8% in 2022, slowing down from a 5.8% increase recorded in 2021, the statistical board, INS, said on Wednesday in a set of provisional data, which confirmed earlier flash estimates.
In the fourth quarter of last year, Romania’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.6% on the year, after a 3.8% annual rise in the third quarter, INS said, quoting unadjusted data.
Based on seasonally adjusted figures, Romania’s economy expanded by 4.9% in the fourth quarter of 2022, accelerating from a 4.4% annual increase in the previous quarter.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Romania’s GDP edged up by 1% during October-December, following a 1.2% quarterly growth in the third quarter, seasonally adjusted data showed.
In January, finance ministry analysts estimated that Romania’s economic output would rise by 4.9% in 2022, revising their previous autumn forecast for 4.6% growth.
