Romania’s Garanti Bank plans to raise 20 mln euro in cap hike

November 12 (SeeNews) - Romania’s Garanti Bank said on Monday it plans to increase its capital by 20 million euro ($25.42 million) in a private placement and will use the resources for corporate purposes.

Following the fundraiser the bank’s capital will reach 245.7 million euro, Garanti said in a statement.

The bank plans to bring new services and products on the Romanian market in order to strengthen its competitiveness and respond to customer needs.

Romania’s Garanti Bank is part of the Turkiye Garanti Bankasi A.S., which is referred to as the second biggest bank in Turkey. Garanti has been operating in Romania since 1998 through Garanti Bank as well as a leasing unit, a consumer credit arm and a mortgage lender.
