Foreign exchange inflows amounted to 4.444 billion euro in May, while outflows totalled 1.883 billion euro, the central bank said in a monthly report on Romania’s international reserves on Monday.

The gold reserves of the central bank remained steady at 103.6 tonnes, while their value rose to 7.197 billion euro at the end of May from 7.189 billion euro a month earlier due to an increase in global gold prices.

The international reserves of Romania, including foreign currencies and gold, totalled 72.269 billion euro at the end of May, up from 69.700 billion euro in April.

In June, the payments due on Romania's foreign currency-denominated public and publicly guaranteed debt will amount to about 148 million euro, the central bank said.
