April 12 (SeeNews) - Romania's gross foreign debt increased to 176.8 billion euro ($189.8 billion) at the end of February from 170.1 billion euro at the end of 2023, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
The end-February figure includes 128.4 billion euro in long-term foreign debt, up from 121.8 billion euro at the end of last year, BNR said in a monthly balance of payments report.
Long-term external debt service ratio came in at 10.9% in February, compared to 16.7% at the end of 2023.
The ratio of the BNR’s foreign exchange reserves to short-term external debt by remaining maturity increased to 101.2% at the end of February, from 96.3% at the end of 2023.
