The end-August figure includes 77.2 billion euro in long- and medium-term foreign debt, compared to 75.9 billion at the end of 2011, the central bank said in a statement.
The figure for the long- and medium-term foreign debt includes government debt and privately-held debt.

The long-term and medium-term foreign debt servicing rate, calculated as the ratio of debt payments to total exports, was 29.7 % in the first eight months of 2012 compared to 28.9% in 2011.
