Romania's Egnatia Rom expects to bulid 50 MW of solar projects in 2013

November 23 (SeeNews) - Romanian solar park designer and builder Egnatia said on Friday it hopes to install 10% of Romania's new solar capacity in 2013 in a solar project market estimated at some 500-600 megawatts (MW).

At present Egnatia has signed contracts to develop in 2013 a total 25 MW of medium-sized projects, the company confirmed for SeeNews over the phone the information revealed at the ongoing energy trade fair Renexpo in Romania.
The biggest project to be completed in 2013 will have a capacity of 7.4 MW, however neither the location, nor the investment were disclosed.

The company has three ongoing solar projects - a 6 MW park in southern Varasti, which will be completed in three weeks. The second facility, with a capacity of 3 MW, will be the second phase of a park in northwestern Lechinta. The first part, financed by Casa de Investitii Alianta, was completed in August and has a capacity of 1.7 MW. The third park will be located at northeastern Targu Frumos, Thomas Melitsis, Egnatia's CEO said at Renexpo.

Egnatia Rom provides design, construction, site acquisition and permits for solar parks. The company's recent projects include also four wind farms in Romania with a total capacity of 34 MW. Apart from renewable energy the company is also active in design and construction of telecommunications networks and remote monitoring systems.
