December 17 (SeeNews) - Romanian oil and gas prospecting company Dafora [BSE:DAFR] said on Monday it has signed a contract for drilling works worth approximately $12 million (9.1 million euro) with Israeli company Globe Exploration.

Romania's Dafora signs deal for drilling works worth $12 mln in Israel

Under the two-year contract Dafora will drill an oil field in Israel to an approximate depth of 6,000 metres, the company said in a statement filed to the Bucharest bourse. The works are planned to commence in the beginning of 2013.

Due to the large potential of the oil field, chances for an extension of the contract and for mobilising new installations are very high, Dafora said.

Dafora's net loss widened by 68% in the nine months through September to some 11.9 million lei ($3.3 million/2.6 million euro) from a net loss of 7.1 million lei a year earlier.
