Romania's c/a gap shrinks to 22.7 bln euro in 2023

February 13 (SeeNews) - Romania recorded a current account deficit of 22.694 billion euro ($24.463 billion) at the end of 2023, compared to a deficit of 26 billion euro a year earlier, the central bank said on Tuesday, quoting preliminary data.

The deficit in trade of goods decreased to 29 billion euro, while the surplus in trade of services increased to 13.27 billion euro, BNR said in a monthly balance of payments report.

Primary income registered a deficit of 8.50 billion euro at the end of December, a slight decrease from an 8.51 billion euro shortfall recorded in 2022, while the secondary income surplus increased to 1.59 billion euro.
