Romania's c/a deficit widens to 1.4 bln euro in Jan

March 15 (SeeNews) - Romania recorded a current account deficit of 1.358 billion euro ($1.479 billion) in January, compared with a deficit of 760 million euro in the same month last year, the central bank said on Friday, citing provisional data.

The deficit in trade of goods narrowed to 1.921 billion euro, while the services surplus contracted to 890 million euro, BNR said in a statement.

Primary income turned to a deficit of 376 million euro from a surplus of 27 million euro a year earlier, while secondary income surplus decreased to 49 million euro in January.
