In October alone, Romania issued 3,002 residential building permits, of which 70% were for projects in rural areas, INS said in a data release.
Residential building permits issued in October declined by an annual 8.8% and edged down by 2.6% on a monthly basis.
Non-residential permits totalled 555 in October, down by an annual 16% and 0.4% less than a month earlier.
Residential building permits issued in October decreased on an annual basis in the South-West Oltenia, South-East, West, Bucharest-Ilfov, South-Muntenia and North-West development regions.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects that were granted permits.
In 2022, Romania issued 43,660 building permits for residential projects, down 15% year-on-year.
