October 16 (SeeNews) - Romanian brewer Bergenbier, recently acquired by North American major Molson Coors [NYSE:TAP], has appointed Lucian Ghinea to replace CEO Jens Hoesel when his term expires at the end of November, the company said.

Romania’s Bergenbier replaces CEO

Ghinea, currently financial controller at Molson Coors Central Europe, former StarBev, has been with the group for more than 10 years. He knows the beer industry and the market in Romania and central Europe, the company said in a statement, made available to SeeNews on Tuesday.

Bergenbier was one of the nine breweries acquired by Molson Coors in June 2012, when it bought Czech-based StarBev and renamed it to Molson Coors Central Europe. The move added to its portfolio established brands in the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovakia.

Bergenbier, operating on the Romanian market since 1994, has a production unit in the southern city of Ploiesti.
