Romania's BCR invests 2.0 mln euro in self-service kiosks

November 22 (SeeNews) - Romania's Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) said it has invested 2.0 million euro ($2.6 million) in a self-service cash-in network comprising 400 automated counters.

The greatest advantage of the service consists in the reduction of time required for a transaction: instead of 4 minutes the automated machines take up to 40 seconds, the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.

The machines provide banking services for individual BCR customers such as invoice payment, loan repayment and making deposits. Since their launch 20% of the transactions have been made through them, the bank added. "In a short while, at least 50% of the transactions shall be performed through these devices”, retail executive Bogdan Marin said.
