March 28 (SeeNews) - Romanian banks’ outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 4.9% year-on-year in February, to 383.9 billion lei ($83.3 billion/77.2 billion euro), after a 5.7% annual rise in January, the central bank said.
Private lending in lei rose 5.5% on the year to 263.7 billion lei in February, after growing 5% in January, the central bank, BNR, said in a statement on Tuesday.
Private lending in foreign currency increased 3.7% on the year to 120.1 billion lei in February, as compared to a 7.1% rise the month before.
