Romania's August Tourist Numbers Rise 4.3% Y/Y - Table

Overnight stays rose by an annual 1.7% to almost 3.45 million in August, INS said in a statement.

In July the number of tourists rose by 2.7% on the year to 904,400.

The number of tourists staying in Romania grew by 3.4% on the year to more than 4.956 million in the first eight months of 2008. Overnights rose by 0.4% on the year to over 14.644 million through August.

In 2007 the number of tourists staying in Romania grew by 12% to almost 6.972 million, while overnights increased by 8.4% to some 20.593 million.
