Funding for the four-year contract will be secured through Romania’s Regional Operational Programme (ROP) for 2021-2027 and from its National Recovery and Resilience Plan, PNRR, Arad’s municipality said in a tender document published on SEAP on Saturday.
Initially, the municipality will buy two new trams for an estimated 16 million lei without VAT, while in the next four years, it plans to purchase 23 other trams with the same characteristics or better, for the same unit price as the initial two.
The deadline for submitting offers is November 21.
In May 2019, the Arad municipality announced it signed a 218.8 million lei contract for the acquisition of 28 new trams from Astra Vagoane Calatori, a local producer of rail vehicles, with funding secured mainly through Romania’s ROP for 2014-2020.
