October 23 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 14.7% on the year to 397.1 billion lei ($96 billion/81 billion euro) in September, compared to an annual increase of 14% in August, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Leu deposits increased 13% year-on-year to 255.9 billion lei in September after growing by 12.7% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 18% on the year to 141.2 billion lei in September, after growing by 16.5% in August.
