Romania’s Aerostar completes 3 mln euro PV rooftop project

December 22 (SeeNews) - Romanian aircraft construction and repair company Aerostar [BSE:ARS] said on Thursday that it has made a 3 million euro ($3.2 million) investment in the installation of a photovoltaic park with a total installed power capacity of 3 MW to cover its own energy needs.

The solar park is comprised of over 3,000 panels located on the rooftops of Aerostar buildings, the company said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The implementation of the project took place during the third and fourth quarters of 2022.

The investment was funded through Aerostar’s own resources.

Romanian aerospace investment company Iarom is Aerostar’s majority shareholder, with a 71.48% stake in the company.

In 2021, Aerostar posted a net profit of 59.9 million lei ($13 million/12.2 million euro), while turning over 376.4 million lei and employing 1,531 people, latest data from the finance ministry shows.

Aerostar shares traded 1.3% higher at 7.8 lei as at 0900 CET on Thursday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
