During last year, food, beverages, and tobacco sales increased by an unadjusted 3.6% on the year, non-food sales saw a 3.8% rise, while fuel sales declined by 4.4%, the statistical office said in a statement.
In December alone, retail sales increased by an adjusted 1.5% year-on-year.
Compared with November, adjusted retail turnover volume saw a 0.2% decrease in December, driven by a 1.3% drop in non-food product sales. Sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products registered a 0.3% month-on-month growth, while a 2.5% increase was registered in automotive fuel sales. These figures exclude sales of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
