Romania's domestic energy production totalled 19 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) through October, while imports reached 9.4 million TOE, INS said in a statement.
A TOE is the rounded-off amount of energy that would be produced by burning one metric tonne of crude oil.

Romania's electricity output and imports totalled a combined 49.83 billion kilowatt hours (KWh) through October, down 3.0% on the year.
The thermal power stations' production rose by 2.2% to 27.04 billion KWh in the first ten months of 2012. The hydroelectric power stations' output dropped 23.2% to 10.5 billion KWh, the production of nuclear power plants fell 2.4% to 9.5 billion KWh and the output of wind farms was 2.01 billion KWh, up by 1.08 billion KWh on the year.
Final electricity consumption edged up by an annual 0.2% to 43.86 billion KWh through October.
Romania’s electricity exports in the January-October period dropped by 72.1% to 640.6 million KWh, INS said.
