The contract was awarded by the Bucharest Airports National Company, CNAB, with works to be completed within six months, news agency Agerpres reported on Wednesday.

Once completed, the new parking lot will span 20,265 sq m and will feature 662 parking spaces, of which 66 spaces will have the necessary infrastructure to facilitate the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

"The Bucharest Airports National Company has already initiated the steps for the construction of other parking lots, through which 1,600 new parking spaces will be created, as well as for the modernization and consolidation of the Arrivals multi-storey parking lot," Agerpress quoted CNAB as saying.

In 2022, CNAB booked a net profit of 303.95 million lei on a net turnover of 954.86 million lei, according to the latest data available from the finance ministry.
