The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], lost 1.95% to 4,814.76 points.
The BET-BK index, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, fell 1.79% to 1,004.05 points.
The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Proprietatea, slid 2.36% to 23,680.61 points. The composite BET-C index decreased 1.87% to 2,649.68 points.
The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, closed 2.32% down at 9,227.67 points.
BVB's equity turnover slumped to 11.3 million lei ($3.2 million/2.5 million euro), including four block deals worth a combined 3.5 million lei, from 105.6 million lei on Friday.
SIF Transilvania [BSE:SIF3] was the most traded stock on Monday, falling 3.33% to 0.5665 lei in turnover worth 1.6 million lei. SIF Transilvania was also the top decliner among the SIFs.
Oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] fell the most among the blue chips, depreciating 2.96% to 0.3963 lei in deals worth 495,300 lei in regular trading. On the block deals segment, about 1.6 million shares of the group were traded in one block deal for 642,300 lei.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, declined 2.09% to 454.10 points.
The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, ended 1.57% lower at 589.70 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, dropped 0.36% to 1,460.62 points. The RASDAQ turnover fell to 196,400 lei from 277,600 on Friday.
