The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], decreased 1.51% to 4,750.07 points.
The BET-BK index, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, fell 1.76% to 992.76 points.
The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Proprietatea, slid 2.25% to 23,302.39 points. The composite BET-C index lost 1.27% to 2,626.92 points.
The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, declined 1.85% to 9,101.84 points.
BVB's equity turnover jumped to 23 million lei ($6.5 million/5.1 million euro), including two block deals worth a combined 2.9 million lei, from 10.3 million lei on Tuesday.
Blue chip Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP] was the most traded stock on Wednesday. It fell 1.98% to 0.52 lei in turnover of 10 million lei.
Brokerage house SSIF Broker [BSE:BRK] was the top blue-chip loser, dropping 5.11% to 0.1115 lei in deals worth 274,400 lei.
SIF Transilvania [BSE:SIF3] fell the most among SIFs, sliding 3.30% to 0.5565 lei in 2.7 million lei turnover.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, dropped 1.75% to 447.55 points.
The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, closed 1.33% lower at 585.28 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, fell 0.60% to 1,444.60 points. The RASDAQ turnover dropped to 223,100 lei from 847,800 lei on Tuesday.
