Romanian stock indices mostly grow, turnover drops

October 1 (SeeNews) - Most of the Romanian stock indices gained ground on Monday as turnover dropped, bourse data showed.

The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], picked up 0.54% to 4,750.41 points.

The BET-BK index, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, climbed 0.11% to 991.97 points.

The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Proprietatea [BSE:FP], eased 0.53% to 23,367.52 points. The composite BET-C index appreciated 0.60% to 2,631.89 points.

The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, added 0.54% to 9,146.44 points.

BVB's equity turnover slumped to 4.1 million lei ($1.2 million/906,700 euro), including one block deal worth 360,800 lei, from 23.3 million lei on Friday.

Blue chip Fondul Proprietatea lost 0.38% to 0.526 lei in Monday's largest turnover worth 1.03 million lei.

Oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] was the top blue-chip gainer, advancing 1.76% to 0.4 lei in deals worth 126,400 lei.

SIF Moldova [BSE:SIF2] was the only gainer among SIFs. Its shares climbed 0.38% to 1.325 lei in deals worth 103,600 lei.

The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, appreciated 0.27% to 447.84 points.

The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, ended 0.86% higher at 587.30 points.

Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, advanced 0.98% to 1,441.82 points. The RASDAQ turnover dropped to 165,500 lei from 263,900 lei on Friday.
