The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], declined 0.35% to 4,758.84 points.
The BET-BK, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, fell 0.12% to 992.23 points.
The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Fondul Proprietatea, was the only index to buck the decline. It picked up 0.18% to 23,736.12 points.
The composite BET-C index decreased 0.10% to 2,608.71 points.
The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, eased 0.06% to 9,533.20 points.
BVB's total equity turnover grew to 11.7 million lei ($3.4 million/2.6 million euro), including one block deal involving 1.5 million shares shares of blue chip OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] and worth 600,000 lei, from 6.8 million lei on Friday.
Blue chip Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP] was the most traded stock on Monday, advancing 0.38% to 0.5345 lei in deals worth 4.4 million lei.
Transgaz [BSE:TGN] was the top blue chip decliner, depreciating 2.4% to 203 lei in turnover of 434,000 lei.
SIF Oltenia [BSE:SIF5] was the top gainer among the SIFs. It appreciated 1.15% to 1.325 lei in turnover worth 1.0 million lei, Monday's fourth-largest.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, shed 0.16% to 450.04 points.
The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, closed 0.14% lower at 587.85 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, slid 0.88% to 1,425.32 points. The
RASDAQ turnover slumped to 80,200 lei, from 1.2 million lei on Friday.
