The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], gained 0.43% to 4,795.97 points.
The BET-BK, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, added 0.21% to 991.13 points.
The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Fondul Proprietatea, climbed 0.29% to 23,500.48 points.
The composite BET-C index picked up 0.15% to 2,614.08 points.
The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, rose 0.56% to 9,557.60 points.
BVB's total equity turnover rose to 13.1 million lei ($3.7 million/2.9 million euro), including three block deals worth a combined 4.1 million lei, from 11.4 million lei on Monday.
Blue chip Fondul Proprietatea edged down 0.28% to 0.533 lei in Tuesday's largest turnover worth 3.4 million lei.
Oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] was the top blue chip gainer, advancing 1.72% to 0.4089 lei in deals worth 374,700 lei.
SIF Transilvania [BSE:SIF3] was the top gainer among the SIFs, climbing 1.33% to 0.61 lei in deals worth 648,400 lei.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, ended 0.45% higher at 450.72 points.
The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, gained 0.16% to 586.15 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, eased 0.23% to 1,435.08 points. The RASDAQ turnover dropped to 116,100 lei from 201,229 lei on Monday.
