December 30 (SeeNews) - Romanian oil pipeline operator Conpet [BSE:COTE] said on Tuesday it has signed a 42.6 million lei ($11.9 million/9.7 million euro) deal with local refinery Petrotel Lukoil for oil transport services.
Under the contract, valid between January 1 and December 31, 2015, Conpet will transport the oil imported by Petrotel Lukoil from the Black Sea port of Constanta to the southern city of Ploiesti, where the refinery is located, Conpet said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The Petrotel refinery, owned by Russia's Lukoil, is currently under investigation by the Romanian authorities for alleged money laundering and tax evasion. In October it halted production for several days after local prosecutors seized oil and oil products worth some 1.0 billion lei.
Conpet's shares closed 2.65% lower at 55 lei on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Monday.
