The currency ended at 4.5365/5415 per euro compared to 4.5430/5450 per euro on Wednesday.
The leu opened at 4.5425/5475 per euro and changed hands between 4.5335/5385 and 4.5491/5541 during the trading session, a local dealer told SeeNews.
Romania's central bank, BNR, set its reference exchange rate at 4.5379 lei per euro on Thursday, compared to 4.5388 on Wednesday. For the U.S. dollar, BNR set the reference exchange rate at 3.5552 lei versus 3.5603 lei on Wednesday.
Turnover on the Romanian interbank leu deposit market decreased to 1.03 billion lei on Wednesday from 1.14 billion lei on Tuesday. The central bank will issue Thursday's turnover figure on Friday.
Interest rates on overnight leu deposits fell to 5.24%/5.74% from 5.28%/5.78% on Wednesday.
