Financed by the ministry for development, public works and administration, the Gheorghe Hagi stadium will feature a football training pitch and a 6-lane running track, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.

The stadium's design and construction are estimated to be finalised in 28 months.

The project will follow UEFA’s highest classification requirements, rendering the pitch 105 m long and 68 m wide, equipped with watering, drainage and heating systems, according to a press release published by the ministry for development on Wednesday.

In addition to its primary function, the stadium will also feature gyms, a conference centre, along with exhibition, administrative, and commercial spaces.
