Prefab

As the cold season is drawing nearer, the company expects fewer clients, and so it is considering curbing the activity of certain production lines, as well as reducing personnel at its Calarasi plant by December 1, it said in a press release.

During the period of lower activity the company will carry on with the verification, maintenance and repairs of its equipment, as well as current administrative issues, it added.

Prefab was founded in 1967 as a state-owned enterprise and privatised in 1998. Since 2009 it has been the largest national producer and supplier of auto-claved aerated concrete.

It posted a 2.24 million lei ($524,500/471,300 euro) net profit in 2018, up from 1.32 million lei in the previous year.

Its shares were trading 1.09% higher at 0.9250 lei on Friday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
